QB Johnny Manziel, RB Terrance West in LA for NFLPA Rookie Premiere

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

The Cleveland Browns have an OTA session on Friday, but QB Johnny Manziel won't be there -- he's got business to take care of in Los Angeles. Raise the alert level! Manziel has legitimate business in Los Angeles, though, as he, along with two other Browns rookies, will be attending the 20th annual NFLPA Rookie Premiere from Thursday, May 29th to Saturday, May 31st. The three representatives from the Browns include:

  • QB Johnny Manziel (1st round pick)
  • QB Connor Shaw (UDFA)
  • RB Terrance West (3rd round pick)

What is the event about?

"NFLPA Rookie Premiere is an unparalleled opportunity for our partners to engage with tomorrow’s most influential athletes today," said NFL Players Inc. President Keith Gordon. "For the first time as professionals, players will learn about the business of football from fellow players, union leadership, and industry experts as they start to build a game plan to succeed beyond their playing careers."

The Browns did not have any rookies partake in the event in 2013, but QB Brandon Weeden and RB Trent Richardson participated in the 2012 event. Two of the featured guest speakers for this year's event include former members of the Browns -- LB Kevin Bentley and LB Willie McGinest.

I'm sure the media in attendance will go all-out this weekend in terms of swarming Manziel. Maybe that is why he was trying on suits at Strongsville mall yesterday:

We'll pass along any information related to the Browns' players at the event as it comes along.
