2014 DBN Mock Draft: Seattle Seahawks Select WR Jordan Matthews at No. 32

Stacy Revere

With the 32nd pick in the 2014 Dawgs By Nature Community Mock Draft, the Seattle Seahawks select...

Jordan Matthews, WR, Vanderbilt

This selection and write-up was made by KillerNut:

So first things first -- the Seahawks probably would not be taking this pick. They are in perfect position to trade down, and since most of the great wideouts are off the board, they would be highly incentivized to start the Carr frenzy. If presented this board at pick 24, I could see them making a trade up in order to take Allen Robinson.  But, since Chris wont let me trade this pick, the Seahawks will be taking Jordan Matthews of Vanderbilt. This is probably a slight reach, but Bruce Irvin, so, yeah, Seahawks. While he does not scream value at 32, he does not seem like too much of a stretch that Mel Kiper will lose his jaw during the announcement.  Matthews will slide right in to the Seahawks' horrid recieving corps (Golden Tate was seen as a huge loss, and this is me, resting my case). He provides a huge body to go up and catch WilsonLobs, and would be a fun receiver to have opposite Harvin and tight end Terrelle Pryor.

Matthews would slide right in as a starter, and would probably produce pretty well. He would be going into a great system with a fantastic coach and the Immortal Russell Wilson (How did our FO miss that one so badly? How awesome would he be in Orange?). The Seahawks are probably still the best team in football, so adding Jordan Matthews won't really make or break the team. He will be a nice contributor on a very very very very very very very very very good team.

Coming off of a Super Bowl victory, I would see the Seahawks going offensive guard, since it was a position they rotated two players at last postseason. Any position could really be at play here, though, and I wouldn't be surprised if Seattle takes a player who the media has rated somewhere in round three.

The Houston Texans are up next, led by Weeden2Gordon.
