We're going to start a new, semi-regular feature here at Dawgs By Nature: holding an approval poll for Cleveland Browns general manager Ray Farmer. The Browns have had turmoil in the front office for over a decade now, including at the general manager position. While Tom Heckert might have been held in high regard at the time he was general manager, Michael Lombardi was doomed from the get-go.
Farmer walked into a gold mine scenario for a first-year general manager. There is a lot of risk involved, given the lack of success general managers have had in Cleveland, but he has been provided with the pieces necessary to turn a franchise around quickly. So far, he's done an admirable job in free agency: the team signed several veteran defenders, ditched the old quarterbacks, and found a creative way to retain C Alex Mack for two more years. Farmer has also been very well-liked by fans because of how he comes off in his press conference. Will that change after the draft, though?
In the poll below, vote on whether you approve of the job that Farmer has done as general manager. After the draft is over, we will conduct the same poll and compare the results.
