Congratulations to Cleveland Browns cornerback Joe Haden, who was ranked at No. 39 on the list of the NFL's Top 100 Players of 2014. It is an impressive leap for Haden, who is coming off his best season as a pro and was rewarded with a 5-year, $67.5 million extension this offseason. The extension will keep Haden with the team through the 2019 season.
This is the first time Haden has ever been listed on the NFL's Top 100 list. He was considered one of the top "snubs" on the 2013 list, which included running back Trent Richardson and offensive tackle Joe Thomas. I would expect Thomas to make the list again in 2014, but there are only 35 spots left. It was also be interesting to see if wide receiver Josh Gordon has a spot anywhere on the list.
Veteran cornerback Ike Taylor calls him a "young stud" in the video released by NFL.com. The other people with testaments of Haden's abilities include TE Jordan Cameron, WR Josh Gordon, QB Christian Ponder (Vikings), and WR Marvin Jones (Bengals).
