In the summer of 2014, which players are the best NFL franchise cornerstones going forward among the entire league? This week DBN will answer that question, from top to bottom. So let's get started.
The next stage in our DBN Community NFL Reshuffle Draft is establishing some pre-draft player rankings. In case you missed the initial post from two weeks ago, thoroughly explaining the concept behind our team building mock draft game, you can check it out here.
While you may not be one of the 32 team managers making selections, you can still participate throughout the entire process by joining the discussion. You're also welcome to help us establish these pre-draft player rankings.
Below you will see a survey with well over 150 of best players in the NFL. Each of these players will be rated on a scale of 1 to 10 based on their draft value in our format. A full 10 being the best and 1 being the worst. Remember, we're building teams from the ground up in this draft. Account for everything from immediate impact, longevity, positional value, and whatever else you see fit.
After several days of accepting responses, the composite scores will determine our pre-draft player rankings. These rankings will merely serve as a guide during the early rounds when the actual draft goes live. No one will be forced to adhere to it by any means.
Now for some brief housekeeping.
After some consideration, team managers won't have to declare the scheme they plan to draft for, but keeping within the rules of the game, they will be expected to fill out a mostly traditional starting roster. On the defensive side of the ball, we'll be sticking with either 4-3 or 3-4. For offense, the only strict guidelines will be on the offensive line (LT, LG, C, RG, RT), QB, and RB. Flexibility comes in with WR, TE, and FB.
Keep in mind again, if you're interested in the game, but didn't make it in or don't feel you'll be available enough to play, you're still completely welcome and encouraged to be apart of the discussion as the draft plays out. That's where the fun is. All of the live threads will be entirely open.
Those who'd already expressed interest in the original thread from March had spots reserved, but were still asked to confirm their spot in the comments. Those still unconfirmed have this last chance to do so before we move on to the waitlist. To those on the waitlist, stay alert throughout the whole game. If a team manager ends up missing in action, the team could end up passed on to you.

Lastly, if you have any other ideas about how to improve or build upon this DBN community fantasy re-draft game, feel free to share below. We can also begin to loosely theorize potential dates for the live draft rounds, as well as which days of the week work best, how many days they'll last, the time limits before automatic selections, etc.
