Earlier this week, the NFL announced participants for the 8th annual NFL Broadcast Boot Camp. Nobody on the Cleveland Browns' current roster is participating, but there are several former Browns participating. In fact, among the 25 participants, 7 of them are former members of the Browns:
Former Browns Participating in NFL Broadcast Boot Camp
- QB Brady Quinn
- RB Thomas Clayton
- WR Donte Stallworth
- TE Evan Moore
- DT Antonio Garay
- CB Ralph Brown
- S Mike Adams
Out of those seven players, the only one currently on an NFL roster is Adams (Denver Broncos). Adams routinely did broadcasting work on post-game shows in Cleveland when he was a member of the Browns. Also, Je'rod Cherry, who never played for the Browns but hosts a show on WKNR 850 AM, will be taking part in the camp, which runs from June 16-19.
The four-day program, directed by the NFL Player Engagement and NFL Broadcasting departments, covers a wide range of topics with on-air and production instructors from each of the NFL’s broadcast partners – CBS, FOX, NBC, ESPN, NFL Network, SiriusXM, and WestwoodOne Radio. Sessions include hands-on work in areas such as tape study, editing, show preparation, radio production, studio preparation, production meetings, field reporting and game preparation. Each player will tape segments as a game analyst and as a field reporter and serve as a live guest host on SiriusXM NFL Radio.
