We know all about Chomps and Brownie the Elf, but the Cleveland Browns are adding a new mascot to lead them onto the field in 2014: an actual dog. Sunday morning, Chris Fillar of 92.3 the Fan interviewed Kevin Griffin from the Browns front office. Unfortunately, it doesn't appear as though the audio was made available after the fact, but Fillar tweeted out some details:
Browns VP of Marketing Kevin Griffin telling me that the Browns will unveil a LIVE bulldog mascot named "Swagger" this season.

Excuse me, to clarify: The Browns new live dog mascot, "Swagger", will be a Bull MASTIFF.

This would presumably be another step toward re-defining the image of the Dawg Pound at FirstEnergy Stadium. As noted by Tom Reed of the Plain Dealer, several other NFL teams use live animal mascots:
The Seattle Seahawks boast Taima the hawk, the Denver Broncos use a white Arabian horse named Thunder II and the Baltimore Ravens have two ravens, Rise and Conquer.
Griffin used to work for the Seahawks, so the live animal concept isn't new for him. What do you think about the idea, Browns fans?
