Grossman had been with the Redskins since 2010, however not seeing game time since 2011.
The Browns subsequently waived Tyler Thigpen, who to say the least, was underwhelming on Saturday against the Lions.
The signing of Grossman makes sense, as he's worked with OC Kyle Shanahan for the last 5 years. They worked together for 4 seasons in Washington, and a season in Houston in 2009.
The Browns couldn't actually go forward with Tyler Thigpen and Connor Shaw as their backups to Brian Hoyer and Johnny Manziel, so the signing seems like a good move. Grossman is an 11-year veteran of the league and understands the offense.
In the interesting timing department, Rex could make his debut for the Browns for his old team, in Washington at FedEx Field on Monday night against the Redskins.
What do y'all make of the signing, good move?
