Well, that was not the most desirable second quarter. Down to their third-string quarterback, Austin Pettis threw two touchdown passes against the Browns' first-team defense in large part due to struggling play from rookie cornerback Justin Gilbert. The offense had scuffles too, including a couple of three-and-outs, and then an interception by quarterback Brian Hoyer that was forced into coverage on what looked to be a pre-determined decision from the veteran.
At last, though, the Browns got a touchdown-scoring drive with less than a minute to go in the first half. Hoyer connected with wide receiver Andrew Hawkins, but the drive was set-up by a terrific kickoff return by wide receiver Taylor Gabriel. It's 20-7 Rams heading into the second half.
