At 9:21 AM this morning, former Cleveland Browns CEO Joe Banner tweeted the following prediction about QB Johnny Manziel:
I predict Johnny football makes his debut today. Stadium will go nuts. It will be a package of plays. Will be interesting
— Joe Banner (@JoeBanner13) September 14, 2014
Was it just a projection, or did Banner have some information from CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora, who, at 9:25 AM, posted an article saying that Manziel is expected to be a factor in Week 2's offensive gameplan against the Saints.
The Browns expect to get first-round pick Johnny Manziel on the field this week to provide some different looks as the club deals with a shortage of offensive talent. The Browns feel the need to be creative and throw different looks at the Saints given the limitations of their offensive personnel, and have been working on read-option plays for Manziel all offseason. Expect to see those plays in a regular season game for the first time today, at least for a few snaps.
