Adam Schefter of ESPN reported yesterday evening that the Cleveland Browns have requested permission to speak with two Dallas Cowboys coaches; offensive coordinator/offensive line coach Bill Callahan, as well as passing game coordinator Scott Linehan.

The fact that Cleveland is interested in Bill Callahan makes sense, he and Browns head coach Mike Pettine are reportedly close. Pettine even tried to interview Callahan last year for the Browns open offensive coordinator position at the time, but Cowboys owner Jerry Jones blocked it.
To update Cleveland interest in Dallas OC Bill Callahan: Browns tried to hire him last year, Jerry Jones blocked it. Callahan-Pettine close.

Callahan and Pettine were on the same Jets staff from 2009-2011, when Pettine was the defensive coordinator, and Callahan the assistant head coach/offensive line coach.
We'll have further info on the new candidates as we go along. In the meantime, what do you think about this recent development in the search?
