Browns interviewed Rams QB coach Frank Cignetti for OC

Adding another name to the list of interviews for the Browns OC search...

Jeff Curry-USA TODAY Sports

According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, the Cleveland Browns added another name to their OC search list on Tuesday. The Browns interviewed current St. Louis Rams QB coach Frank Cignetti for their open OC role vacated by Kyle Shanahan.

Cignetti, 49, has been with the Rams since 2012 as their QB coach. Before that he held various assistants jobs at the collegiate level, including coordinating at a few stops (Fresno State, North Carolina, Cal, Pitt, Rutgers). But, Cignetti has never been a coordinator at the NFL level.

The Browns list continues to grow, and we'll continue to update you. With the addition of Cignetti and Mike Martz yesterday, I had a hunch the Browns were doing their due diligence with a lot of candidates. The more this goes on, the more I believe that these interviews may not all be for the open OC position, per say, but the Browns are trying to align the right people in place for both the OC and QB coach roles.

It'll be interesting to see how this shakes out with the OC and QB coaches they choose. I imagine that one of the names that interviewed for the "OC position," will in fact be named the QB coach.

What do you all think about adding Frank Cignetti to the list?
