Both teams traded three-and-outs to begin the second quarter, with Cleveland still down 14-3. On Cleveland's next possession, they were fortunate to receive a roughing-the-passer call on a bad interception lobbed up by QB Josh McCown. The Browns still had to punt from near midfield, but Baltimore punted right back mid-way through the second quarter.
A big play to TE Gary Barnidge for 35 yards put the Browns into the red zone, but another third down sack forced Cleveland to send out K Travis Coons. Coons nailed his second 43-yard attempt of the game, cutting the Ravens' lead to 14-6. The Browns' poor special teams day continued as a big kickoff return, along with a late hit by Coons, gave the Ravens the ball in Cleveland territory. It led to a 51-yard field goal attempt by K Justin Tucker with just over a minute to go in the half, but he pulled it wide left.
In the one-minute drill, McCown hit WR Andrew Hawkins for a catch-and-run of 22 yards to get the offense into Baltimore territory. Cleveland got in range for a 37-yard field goal, which Coons hit again. The Browns trail 14-9 at the half, but will get the ball first to begin the second half.
