The Browns settled for a 25-yard field goal by K Travis Coons at the beginning of the second quarter, cutting the Rams' lead to 10-3. The Rams punted from near midfield on their next drive, and pinned Cleveland back at their own 4 yard line. The Browns then traded three-and-outs with the Rams and got the ball back inside their own 10 yard line again.
A few penalties backed the Browns up even further, forcing them to punt from deep in their own territory again. The Rams started putting together a nice drive and QB Nick Foles completed a pass to TE Jared Cook into the red zone, but Cook was stripped of the ball by SS Donte Whitner and FS Jordan Poyer fell on top of it. Cleveland was able to get the ball to midfield, but had to punt with about a minute to go in the half. After a punt, the Rams quickly marched the ball to midfield with several plays to RB Todd Gurley. The Rams tried a 63-yard field goal, but it was wide right. It's 10-3 Rams heading to the second half.
