It looks like the Cleveland Browns might be getting a second dose of RB Terrance West this year.
The Baltimore Ravens signed West to their practice squad last week after the Tennessee Titans had cut him loose. Today, they announced that they've promoted him to their 53-man roster. The Ravens have been depleted at the skill position on offense this year, leaving them in search of anybody who can contribute. Wide receiver has been the biggest hole to fill, but the running back position after starter Justin Forsett has been in flux too.
I didn't think West would get the call-up so quickly from the practice squad. Prior to signing West, the depth chart currently read like this at the position:
1. Justin Forsett
2. Javorius Allen
3. Raheem Mostert
Mostert has taken on more of a return game role, so West might be viewed as the third running back on the depth chart now. If he stays on the roster after this week, he could face the Browns on Monday Night Football on November 30th. It would have to be a strange experience for him, because he will have worn three different uniforms in Browns stadium this year -- with Cleveland in the preseason, with Tennessee in Week 2, and potentially with Baltimore in Week 12.
