Here is a summary of how the Cleveland Browns are viewed across mainstream media outlets heading into Week 12 Power Rankings of the NFL season. Note: Obviously, most of these rankings were made prior to Manziel being pulled as the starter, but it probably wouldn't have mattered in the rankings.

CBS Sports - No. 32 (Even from Last Week)

It's Johnny Manziel's team the rest of the way. He has to show he is the quarterback of the future, or they will be drafting one.

FOX Sports - No. 31 (Even from Last Week)

Will Johnny Manziel still be the starter after apparent party/club footage has emerged? If so, I wouldn’t be surprised to see different offensive looks coming out of the bye week now that he’s under center. Keep an eye on WR Travis Benjamin and rookie RB Duke Johnson. - No. 31 (Up 1 from Last Week)

Cleveland flies up the rankings (... which, of course, means they were on a bye). The big news of the off week in Cleveland was the ascension of Johnny Manziel into the starter's seat at quarterback. Well, perhaps "ascension" is a bit strong, given Mike Pettine's lackluster desire to go with Johnny Football in the first place.

(UPDATE: Pettine said Tuesday that Josh McCown will start against the Ravens on Monday, with Manziel serving as the third quarterback. Pettine had said earlier that he was considering benching Manziel after images surfaced that appeared to show Manziel holding a champagne bottle at a club in Austin, Texas.)

While all that goes on, many fans have failed to notice the brilliant play of Gary Barnidge -- his seven touchdowns trail only Rob Gronkowski and Tyler Eifert among tight ends.

Yahoo Sports - No. 31 (Even from Last Week)

Cornerback Justin Gilbert, a 2014 first-round pick who went ahead of Odell Beckham, among others, has played 32 snaps all season for a bad team. And 23 of those came in one game. Because of the team's other first-round pick last year, Gilbert doesn't get a ton of attention. But he's going down as an all-time bad pick.

ESPN - No. 32 (Down 4 from Last Week)

Johnny Manziel was named the starting QB the rest of the season during the Browns' bye week. Manziel will make his Monday night debut in Week 12 against the Ravens. - No. 28 (Up 2 from Last Week)

QB Johnny Manziel got named as the starter for the rest of the year, then was videoed at a club violating the terms of his probation during the Browns bye week.
