The story with CB Justin Gilbert just gets better and better, doesn't it?
After former Browns.com writer Kevin Jones posted an annihilation piece on the second-year cornerback just hours before the game, the team announced that Gilbert will make his first start of the season in place of the concussed Joe Haden.
Leading up to the game, defensive coordinator Jim O'Neil said that the cornerback besides Tramon Williams with the "best week of practice" would get the start for Haden. Cornerback Pierre Desir, who has seen his stock fall in recent games due to a string of poor performances, is a healthy scratch for tonight's game against the Baltimore Ravens.
The Browns' complete list of inactives is as follows:
- WR Andrew Hawkins
- WR Taylor Gabriel
- OL Joel Bitonio
- DL Randy Starks
- CB Joe Haden
- CB Pierre Desir
- DB Don Jones
After a rough week, QB Johnny Manziel is active as the third quarterback. LG Joel Bitonio is inactive, so OL Cameron Erving will start his second straight game.
