The Cleveland Browns played one of their better defensive games of the season against the Kansas City Chiefs, but they couldn't make enough offensive plays. They ran out of time in the red zone at the end of the game, falling to the Chiefs by a final score of 17-13.
Cleveland trailed 17-3 at the half, with QB Johnny Manziel having a rough first half throwing the football. The Browns owned the time of possession in the second half, though, primarily via the running game. The second half began with a 34-yard rush by Manziel, and the drive concluded with a 10-yard rushing touchdown by RB Isaiah Crowell.
Later in the half, the Browns put together a 21-yard play, 62-yard drive that lasted 12:01 and included a fake punt and a fourth down conversion. The Browns had to settle for a 36-yard field goal by K Travis Coons, though, to make it 17-13. The Browns got the ball back twice in the final five minutes of the game, but turned the ball over on downs on one drive and then ran out of time on the other.
With the Steelers suffering a stunning loss to the Ravens this week, Cleveland will have an opportunity to eliminate Pittsburgh from playoff contention next Sunday to finish the regular season.
