With the 13th pick being used to pick up DE/OLB Shane Ray as the pass rusher the Saints really need, I was able to pickup Breshad Perriman with the team's second first-round selection. Lucky for the Saints, Perriman was still available, considering he is thought to be the 4th best receiver in the draft and Dorial Green-Beckham is already off the board. With the trade of Jimmy Graham, Marques Colston past 30, and Kenny Stills gone, Drew Brees needs a new target. Brandin Cooks was drafted last year in the first round, and is going to be a great all-round player, but he can't be the type of player who can go up and grab the ball against DBs. Perriman stands at 6'3", weighs at 214, and ran a 4.22 in the 40 yard dash, that type of player, and the offense Sean Peyton runs, Perriman is going to a candidate for Rookie of the Year.

Because the Saints traded Graham and Stills, they certainly need some more weapons for Drew Brees. The Saints took a bold approach this offseason, and by being able to take a good defensive player (before the news of his recent issue), they have the flexibility to add a receiver at the end of the first round.
