Cleveland Browns Sign 7th Round Draft Pick, ILB Hayes Pullard

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

The Cleveland Browns signed ILB Hayes Pullard on Monday. Taken in the 7th round at No. 219 overall, Pullard agreed to a four-year deal. According to OverTheCap's pre-determined draft chart, Ekpre-Olomu's contract will be worth about $2.359 million, with a $79,240 signing bonus.

Pullard was the team's eleventh selection of the draft, and the first of two picks made in the seventh round. He is 6-1, 240-pounds, and played college football at USC. He will wear No. 40 with the Browns. The Browns are set at their top three inside linebacker positions with Karlos Dansby, Craig Robertson, and Chris Kirksey, but they didn't have that fourth player in the rotation who could play a couple of snaps per game. When Dansby went down with an injury during the second half of the season, Robertson stepped into a starting role, but the depth at the position was incredibly thin after that. Pullard will try to show he can be that fourth rotational guy, but if he gets that role, he'll also have to be a significant contributor on special teams.
