Fan Perception: What We Learned About the Browns' Tight Ends Heading Into Training Camp

Ken Blaze-USA TODAY Sports

In each of our training camp previews, we conduct a poll at the end of the post. The polls are intended to gauge fan perception about certain players or roles on the Cleveland Browns heading into training camp. They help set the initial expectations that fans have on certain players. Here is a summary of each of those polls for the tight ends:

--------------------------------

TE Poll

We covered the tight ends in one sitting, so there was only one poll.

One of our users made the following comment about the poll: "I didn’t vote because I don’t think that we should nor will cut any of these guys."

Another user made the following comment: "I see Dray and Barnidge potentially occupying the same roster spot, especially with the congestion elsewhere- and I think Dray might just sneak it."

That's the tough thought process behind the poll. I listed each of the three tight ends as having a 95% chance at making the roster, but last year, I thought Barnidge might get cut because he had a similar skill set to Dray. While they each have their own strengths, the same is true this year. If both offer similar skill sets and somebody like Emmanuel Bibbs offers a lot of intrigue in camp, maybe they choose him as the third tight end over Dray or Barnidge. Also, if Randall Telfer comes back half-way into the season, do we keep four tight ends, or do we cut Dray or Barnidge then? Per the poll, fans would prefer to see Dray cut, if somebody had to go from that group. [Read the TE Preview]
