Fan Perception: What We Learned About the Browns' Inside Linebackers Heading Into Training Camp

In each of our training camp previews, we conduct a poll at the end of the post. The polls are intended to gauge fan perception about certain players or roles on the Cleveland Browns heading into training camp. They help set the initial expectations that fans have on certain players. Here is a summary of each of those polls for the inside linebackers:

ILB Polls

51% of fans believe that Craig Robertson and Chris Kirksey should receive an even amount of playing time again in 2015. That's the route I would go, too, because the alternating compensates for the fact that neither one is a top-end, complete package at inside linebacker. 39% of fans would like to see Kirksey groomed with more playing time, which is a fairly large chunk of the vote. If Robertson had struggled last year, I think it'd be a definite. [Read Part 1 of the ILB Preview]

ILB Polls

In the whole grand scheme of things, none of these three players are valued at a high level yet by the fan base for their abilities on defense. Tank Carder receives the majority of the votes because of his tenure with the team, his special teams abilities, and the fact that Jim O'Neil talked him up back in June. Darius Eubanks has been cast aside a bit, just as I suspected. [Read Part 2 of the ILB Preview]
