The Cleveland Browns announced 6 roster moves at 9:15 AM on Monday, getting their roster down from 90 players to 84 players. They have to make 9 more roster moves prior to the Tuesday deadline at 4:00 PM ET.
Bragging Rights: If we're keeping score, none of the 6 players removed from the roster today were on my list for projected the players expected to be on the Browns' 53-man roster.
Must Reads
Players Terminated
- RB Jalen Parmele - Was signed as insurance when the Browns were without Duke Johnson, Terrance West, Malcolm Johnson, Glenn Winston, and Luke Lundy earlier in camp due to injuries.
- OLB Everette Brown - Former 2nd round pick by Panthers who has bounced around to several teams. Was signed two weeks ago as depth at OLB while Barkevious Mingo comes back from surgery.
- ILB Moise Fokou - Browns didn't really need the inside linebacker depth. Expect Tank Carder and Hayes Pullard to play the position in the final preseason game.
- CB Aaron Ross - Was also signed two weeks ago due to all of the injuries at cornerback. Some players are coming back healthy, so he was expendable.
Players Waived
- WR Shane Wynn - This will be viewed as the biggest cut so far, as he was with the club since the start of camp. He is a local kid, having played at Glenville High School. He caught a touchdown pass in the second preseason game and had a big punt return called back, but was receiving the least amount of snaps at wide receiver during the games. SS Donte Whitner wished him farewell:
@SHANEWYNN4 it's not over bro keep grindin'.... I know you'll get on somewhere! #VilleLove
— DonteHitner (@DonteWhitner) August 31, 2015 - TE Anthony Ezeakunne - He was just signed last week, so it's not a surprised to see a camp body like him gone.
