The Raiders went three-and-out to begin the second quarter. Cleveland's offense then went three-and-out again as the crowd starting booing and cheering for backup QB Johnny Manziel. After a couple of penalties, the Raiders set up for the punt. Unfortunately, Cleveland roughed the punter, giving Oakland a fresh set of downs.

Oakland responded with another big completion to WR Amari Cooper. Inside the red zone, QB Derek Carr hit WR Andre Holmes for a 3-yard touchdown pass, giving the Raiders a 10-0 lead mid-way through the second quarter. QB Josh McCown finally found a rhythm offensively with a couple of big completions to TE Gary Barnidge.

After a nice run by RB Isaiah Crowell, Cleveland had the ball at the 1 yard line. Crowell was stuffed on first down, a pass to Barnidge was broken up on second down, and Crowell was stuffed again on third down. The Browns left the offense on the field and decided to go for it. They were going to go for it on fourth down, but Cleveland committed a false start and kicked the 24-yard field goal instead to cut the Raiders' lead to 10-3.

In the two-minute drill, the Raiders began with a huge run play and then a huge pass play to immediately get into field goal range. QB Derek Carr did better than a field goal, though, ending the half with a perfect wheel route touchdown pass to WR Seth Roberts, giving the Raiders a 17-3 lead. Cleveland will get the ball to begin the third quarter, but Carr is picking them apart.
