The Raiders received the ball first and quickly marched down the field with several completions from QB Derek Carr to WR Amari Cooper. Faced with a 3rd-and-goal, Carr had no where to go and threw the ball out of the back of the end zone. The Raiders settled for a field goal to take a 3-0 lead.
The Browns weren't able to do anything with their first drive, punting right back to the Raiders half-way through the first quarter. Cleveland's defense held the Raiders after they moved the ball to near mid-field, and the offense had the ball back with around two minutes to go in the quarter. The Browns trail 3-0 heading into the second quarter.
