Following a brief exile, Cleveland's favorite former quarterback and television analyst is back.

Bernie Kosar will be a part of WOIO Channel 19's "Tailgate 19" and "Sports Zone" shows on Sundays this fall, the station announced this afternoon.

The announcement comes nearly a year and a half after WKYC Channel 3 and the Browns cut Kosar as television color analyst on the club's preseason games. Kosar spent eight seasons in the role.

Kosar's return will occur Sunday on WOIO's "Tailgate 19" at 11 a.m. He will join former Browns players Bob Golic, Joe Jurevicius, and Hanford Dixon, along with former 92.3 The Fan morning show host Chuck Booms.

Kosar will then appear again on the "Sports Zone" with Tony Zarella on Sundays after Browns games at about 11:35 p.m., following "Cleveland 19 News at 11."

The Youngstown native has followed the Browns closely since losing his last job. Kosar caused a stir last December by blasting the club's front office, and frequently tweets about the Browns.

The Browns have not responded to WOIO's announcement, but the team seems to be on good terms with Kosar. This evening, the Browns' Twitter account tweeted out a picture of Kosar next to Joe Haden at the re-opening of the renovated Dwayne Browder Field in Cleveland's Central neighborhood.

All that's left to do now is return Bernie to his traditional role as color analyst for Browns' preseason games.
