A reunion is beginning to take shape in Berea. Another member of the 2013 Cleveland Browns coaching staff has joined the new staff under head coach Hue Jackson.

According to Alex Marvez of FoxSports.com, the Browns have hired Louie Cioffi from the Titans to serve as the club's defensive backs coach.

Cioffi served as the defensive backs coach on the 2013 Browns' staff under defensive coordinator Ray Horton. Under Cioffi, the Browns ranked eighth in passing yards allowed (3,358) and touchdowns allowed (29), as well as fifth in net yards allowed per pass attempt (5.5), all according to Pro Football Reference.

Under Cioffi, Joe Haden and T.J. Ward each reached the Pro Bowl for the first time.

Led by Cioffi, the 2015 Titans secondary ranked seventh in passing yards allowed (3,678), 30th in touchdowns allowed (34), and tied for 21st in interceptions (11). Cioffi worked with veterans CB Perrish Cox, CB Coty Sensabaugh, S Michael Griffin, and S Da'Norris Searcy, among others.

Cioffi has spent 21 seasons in coaching, beginning as a staff assistant with the New York Jets from 1993-94 (according to his Titans bio). The New York native then served as the wide receivers coach for C.W. Post University for two seasons before spending 14 seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals.

Cioffi was a defensive assistant with the Bengals from 1997-2002 before receiving a promotion and serving as assistant defensive backs coach from 2003-10. Cioffi worked on the same staff as Jackson from 2004-06, as Jackson was Cincy's wide receivers coach during that span.

Before joining the Browns in 2013, Cioffi spent a two-year stint from 2011-12 as defensive backs coach of the Arizona Cardinals. Cioffi mentored young players such as Patrick Peterson and Tyronn Mathieu in Arizona.
