Packers Reportedly Hire Former Browns TE Coach Brian Angelichio

Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

According to Alex Marvez of FOX Sports, the Green Bay Packers are hiring former Cleveland Browns tight ends coach Brian Angelichio for the same position on their team.

Angelichio joined the Browns in 2014 as part of Mike Pettine's staff. In 2014, the team didn't get very good production from TE Jordan Cameron, who was in a contract year but was often-injured. The team's blocking at the position was also pretty suspect. This past season, though, TE Gary Barnidge emerged out of no where as one of the NFL's best receiving tight ends. I personally feel that is more of a tribute to Barnidge shining when he was finally given the spotlight, but it certainly doesn't hurt Angelichio that he could throw it on his resume and immediately make a lateral move to another NFL club.
