The Steelers began the game on offense, and after a first-down completion to WR Antonio Brown, ILB Karlos Dansby forced a fumble while Brown was trying to gain yards after the catch. ILB Craig Robertson recovered the fumble, but the offense did nothing with the great field position and couldn't convert their fourth-down attempt on the cusp of field goal range.
Brown made up for his mistake on the next drive, with catch-after-catch to get the Steelers near the goal line. QB Ben Roethlisberger then found TE Heath Miller off of a playfake for a 2-yard touchdown, making it a 7-0 game mid-way through the first quarter. Browns QB Austin Davis was sacked twice on the next series, leading to a punt. Roethlisberger was then picked off on the first play of Pittsburgh's next series by S Jordan Poyer, giving Cleveland very good field position again. Cleveland had to settle for a field goal from 29 yards by K Travis Coons, which he hit to make it a 7-3 game. That's where we stand heading into the second quarter.
