Cleveland Browns vs. Tennessee Titans - 2nd Quarter Game Thread

NFL: Cleveland Browns at Tennessee Titans Christopher Hanewinckel-USA TODAY Sports

The Titans received the ball first and right off the bat got a 41-yard run by QB Marcus Mariota. From there, Cleveland kept stuffing RB DeMarco Murray, but couldn’t stop the pass, ultimately allowing an 11-yard touchdown pass from Mariota to WR Rishard Matthews to go up 7-0.

The Browns began their first drive with a big play of their own -- a 43-yard pass from QB Cody Kessler to TE Gary Barnidge. They quickly had to settle for a 45-yard field goal attempt by K Cody Parkey, which he hit to make it a 7-3 game.

Cleveland then forced a three-and-out, and on offense started having success moving the ball with the pass. The run blocking wasn’t so good, which included being blown up on a 3rd-and-1 play that forced the Browns to settle for a 37-yard field goal to make it a 7-6 game. Cleveland has the ball again heading to the second quarter.
