Below, we analyze the snap counts and stats on offense for the Cleveland Browns' Week 10 game against the Baltimore Ravens.
Quarterback
Pos | Player | Plays | % | Stats |
QB | Cody Kessler |
28 | 56% | 11-of-18 (61.1%) for 91 yards, 1 TD. 1 rush, 3 yards. |
QB | Josh McCown |
20 | 40% | 6-of-13 (46.2%) for 59 yards, 2 INTs. 1 fumble lost. |
QB | Kevin Hogan |
2 | 4% | 1 rush, 1 yard. |
For peace of mind, it's best to just continue trusting head coach Hue Jackson and ignore the very poor decision he made to pull Cody Kessler in the second half. I can kind of guess why he did it, going back to his press conferences before the game. Jackson indicated that he wanted Kessler to be more aggressive in pushing the ball down the field. I have to assume that was an essential part of the gameplan. Instead, he stayed safe, including throwing the ball away and bailing from the pocket a bit early on a few plays. Yes, Jackson wanted a spark from Josh McCown, but I also think he is trying to make a point to Kessler: do what you're told (push it downfield), or I'll find someone who will.
Running Back
Pos | Player | Plays | % | Stats |
RB | Isaiah Crowell | 30 | 60% | 9 carries, 23 yards, 2.6 avg. 3 catches, 30 yards (5 targets). |
RB | Duke Johnson | 21 | 42% | 2 carries, 6 yards, 3.0 avg. 3 catches, 25 yards (5 targets). |
RB | Dan Vitale |
9 | 18% | No stats registered. |
It's sad to know how Isaiah Crowell and Duke Johnson could be a dynamic duo, but now we're in a stretch of the season where the running game is non-existent for a variety of reasons. Dan Vitale was highlighted with a nice block on one play.
Wide Receiver
Pos | Player | Plays | % | Stats |
WR | Corey Coleman | 45 | 90% | 3 catches, 17 yards (5 targets). |
WR | Terrelle Pryor |
43 | 86% | 5 catches, 48 yards (9 targets). |
WR | Andrew Hawkins | 28 | 56% | 0 catches (1 target). |
WR | Rashard Higgins |
8 | 16% | No stats registered. |
WR | Ricardo Louis |
3 | 6% | No stats registered. |
How is it possible that Corey Coleman gets the first two completed passes of the game, and then only has one reception the rest of the way? Sorry, but the Ravens' cornerbacks aren't that good. Terrelle Pryor seems to be doing the same pedestrian routes week after week near the boundary.
Tight End
Pos | Player | Plays | % | Stats |
TE | Gary Barnidge | 39 | 78% | 1 catch, 8 yards (4 targets). |
TE | Randall Telfer | 19 | 38% | 1 catch, -3 yards (1 target). |
TE | Seth DeValve |
5 | 10% | 1 catch, 25 yards (1 target). 1 TD. |
Gary Barnidge didn't see his first catch until late in the game. Randall Telfer caught his first pass of the season, and now he has less yardage than what he entered the game with. Seth DeValve got open on Eric Weddle for a 25-yard touchdown, the team's only points of the game.
Offensive Line
Pos | Player | Plays | % | Stats |
OL | Joe Thomas | 50 | 100% | |
OL | Spencer Drango |
50 | 100% | |
OL | Cameron Erving | 50 | 100% | |
OL | John Greco | 50 | 100% | |
OL | Austin Pasztor | 50 | 100% |
The offensive line allowed 4 sacks and 5 quarterback hits. There were early whiffs by C Cameron Erving and LG Spencer Drango. RT Austin Pasztor was burned on one play. Once Josh McCown was in the game, OLB Terrell Suggs beat LT Joe Thomas twice to force a fumble, one of which resulted in a turnover.
