ESPN: Browns have “astronomical grade” on DE Myles Garrett

NCAA Football: Southwest Classic-Arkansas vs Texas A&M Kevin Jairaj-USA TODAY Sports

The Cleveland Browns are still clinging to the No. 1 overall pick in the draft with four games to go. Despite the need for a quarterback, on Sunday morning, ESPN’s Adam Schefter believes the team favors DE Myles Garrett and that they have an “astronomical grade” they’ve placed on him:

The Browns have what one source close to the situation described as an "astronomical grade" on Texas A&M defensive end Myles Garrett, a blue-chip prospect who could dramatically upgrade Cleveland's defense. The Browns are enamored with Garrett, according to the source.

Despite the grade, Schefter says the club is still doing their due diligence when it comes to evaluating the top quarterback prospects, such as DeShone Kizer:

Browns scout Lake Dawson, who once starred at Notre Dame, has spent an inordinate amount of time in South Bend scouting Fighting Irish quarterback DeShone Kizer, according to a school source.

The Browns getting the No. 1 pick isn’t a guarantee. With one win and the 49ers continuing to lose, San Francisco would have the edge if both teams were to finish with one win.
