Injuries in the secondary have led the Cleveland Browns to look at other options at cornerback.
One of those options is 2016 fifth round pick Trey Caldwell.
The Browns signed the rookie to the 53-man roster earlier this week. Caldwell has spent all season to this point on the practice squad after injuring his hamstring during training camp.
To make room for the 5’9”, 195-pound back, the Browns waived defensive back Trae Elston, who was inactive for the team’s last two games.
Caldwell recorded 143 tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss, and 2 interceptions in four seasons at Louisiana-Monroe.
We’ll see if Caldwell provides any value to the Browns in the last two weeks of the season.
