Just last week, we heard a report saying the Patriots are looking to hold on to Jimmy Garoppolo long-term to ensure a smooth transition from Tom Brady. Less than a week later, we’re hearing about the type of compensation it would take to pry Garoppolo away from the Patriots, courtesy of an interview that ESPN’s Adam Schefter did on the radio:
.@AdamSchefter says discussions for Jimmy G in a trade start at a 1st & 4th round draft pick (the Sam Bradford return)

A 1st- and 4th-round pick might seem preposterous for someone who has, in the grand scheme of things, accomplished so little in the NFL. That’s what a bad precedent like the Sam Bradford deal does. If you asked me which quarterback I’d rather take a shot at, I would no doubt pick Garoppolo. So...why shouldn’t that be the starting point for the Patriots, especially when they are perfectly content to keep him as Brady’s backup/successor?
