- Moore's contract only includes $400,000 in guaranteed money, which is his signing bonus. This is the definition of a "prove it" deal after he signed a 3-year, $12 million deal with the Texans last season, but failed to live up to expectations.
- The good thing about this type of deal is that the Browns don't have to worry about risking a compensatory picks. Players are only counted toward the compensatory pick formula if they became a free agent because of an expiring contract. That wasn't the case with Moore -- he was cut by the Texans this offseason. He'll have a chance to get his game back on track under the tutelage of defensive coordinator Ray Horton, and will contend for the starting free safety job that was vacated when FS Tashaun Gipson signed with the Jaguars.
