With new defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz, the Eagles will be switching from a 3-4 defense to a 4-3 defense. While they do have adequate edge rushers in Connor Barwin and Brandon Graham, both of them were outside line backers in Jim Davis' defense. The Eagles don't lack depth at defensive end, but Barwin and Graham are better suited at OLB and teams can never have enough quality pass rushers.

Joey Bosa may not be the top edge rusher in the draft (that nod goes to Buckner, who went 5th to Jacksonville), but he is the best natural 4-3 defensive end, the best run-defending defensive lineman, and the best player available. It is highly unlikely that Bosa slips this far in the draft, but if he does, the Eagles would be foolish not to add a player of his caliber.

Playing down line from Bennie Logan and Fletcher Cox and under Schwartz' tutelage, Bosa would be an immediate impact player and the odds-on favorite to become the 2016 Defensive Rookie of the Year.

Added bonus: as an Ohioan living in the Philadelphia metro area for the last 16-17 years, I'd absolutely love this pick for the Eagles, as it would mean that I get to watch one of my favorite Buckeyes play on Sunday's for the local team.

We're at a point where it makes sense for the Eagles to take the best player available, and I think Bosa's ceiling would be too high for them to pass up. As for whether the team can recover from whatever the hell Chip Kelly did to their roster a year ago, who knows.
