Jack Conklin, OT, Michigan State

Conklin is a three-year starter and All-American who played in a pro-style offense and is an NFL ready tackle. As a very physical and athletic tackle, Conklin has the size and strength to protect QB Jay Cutler and is a very good run blocker.

Like all teams with losing records, the Bears have plenty of needs including defensive backfield, defensive line, tight end and running back. These will be addressed in later rounds. The Bears did a good job in free agency addressing linebackers to help shore up the run defense and brought in Bobby Massie to play left tackle. With Kyle Long moving to guard, the Bears need to address the tackle position.

Conklin will start at right tackle in 2016 and will groom to left tackle in a year or two, solidifying an improving Bears offense.
