A few weeks ago, the Cleveland Browns held the No. 2 overall pick of the draft and traded back with the Philadelphia Eagles to the No. 8 overall spot. When the first round of the 2016 NFL Draft kicked off tonight, the Browns decided to trade back yet again, this time with the Tennessee Titans.
Sashi Brown, the team's Executive VP of Football Operations, had been saying that they were waiting for a team to blow their socks off with an offer. The Titans came through with that offer, as the Browns moved down to the No. 15 spot in the first round. In exchange, Cleveland received a 2016 3rd-round pick in this year's draft, and a 2017 2nd-round pick, per Field Yates of ESPN. The Browns also parted with a 6th round pick (No. 176 overall) in this year's draft.
Browns Gave The Following to Titans:
- 1st Round: No. 8 overall
- 6th Round: No. 176 overall
Browns Received from Titans
- 3rd Round: No. 76 overall
- 2nd Round Pick in 2017
The Titans used that No. 8 pick to select OT Jack Conklin. The Browns could be targeting a wide receiver with the trade down, as they've been linked to WR Laquon Treadwell often over the past few days.
