It's time to kick off the 2016 DBN Community NFL Mock Draft! The first card has been handed in, and the Tennessee Titans select...

Laremy Tunsil, LT, Ole Miss

The selection and write-up were made by aszabo1:

The term "no-brainer" comes to mind. It's near impossible to find a scout that doesn't think Tunsil has all-pro potential. For a team that could muster only two victories last season, it's impressive the kind of offense they may be able to field come September. They have their franchise quarterback in Marcus Mariota, who answered doubters early last year with four touchdown passes in his first game and looked sharp throughout much of his rookie campaign. They have good receiving targets for him in Dorial Green-Beckham, Kendall Wright, Rishard Matthews, and Delanie Walker.  And they just signed star running back DeMarco Murray to be the lead ball carrier.

With Mariota and Murray being such valuable assets, it makes sense to draft a player that will allow the team to maximize these talents. Tunsil is a day one starter on the left side of the line and his presence will improve the line across the board. Taylor Lewan can move to the right side where he flashed potential as a rookie. Byron Bell, who has struggled at tackle in the past, can move to left guard. And the other two positions should be solid with the newly acquired Ben Jones, a sixteen game starter last season, at center and Chance Warmack, a former first-rounder., at right guard. Head Coach Mike Mularky will be able to fulfill his dream of playing smash mouth football while also having a quarterback that can win through the air.

Many in the music city are clamoring for defense at the top of the draft, but Tunsil, one of the most gifted left tackles to enter the NFL in years, makes way too much sense for this team. This move completes a renovation of the offense, and there will be six more rounds where they can focus on the other side of the ball.

With no trades permitted in our mock draft, this seems like the most likely scenario for the Titans, and it makes sense to continue the investment in their franchise quarterback by making sure he can stay healthy. Not only is Tunsil billed as the top offensive tackle in this year's draft, he's being billed as a "sure thing."

The Cleveland Browns are up next, led by Robo Dawg.
