2016 SB Nation Writers NFL Mock Draft - Cleveland Browns Take WR Michael Thomas at No. 32

Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

The annual SB Nation Writers Mock Draft is in progress over at our network's draft coverage stream. The way it works is that each NFL blog picks a player for their team when their site is on the clock. In the first round, we selected QB Jared Goff, which was met by positive results from Browns fans but questioned by some outsiders. Heading into Cleveland's pick at No. 32 overall to start the second round, here are the players who were drafted:

After much consideration, I decided to give Goff another weapon to grow with on offense.

Chris Pokorny: "After taking quarterback Jared Goff in the first line, it was tempting to think about drafting an offensive lineman to help protect him after the departures of center Alex Mack and right tackle Mitchell Schwartz. Because the team appears to be keeping their most important piece in left tackle Joe Thomas, though, I deferred to adding a receiving option for the Browns.

Even if the Browns get wide receiver Josh Gordon back from suspension, they could use a big target to complement him on the other side, while Andrew Hawkins slides back to his more natural position as a slot receiver. Gordon is an explosive athlete, but has been panned at times for his route running and effort. Thomas is the opposite: he won’t out-run coverages down the field, but he’ll run solid routes and knows how to use body positioning to rack up catches."

To see what Dan Kadar thought of our pick (and what people are saying in the comments section), go here. The voting has us at a grade of 3.94 right now, which is a more favorable grade than fans gave us in the first round with Goff. If you feel the pick should be rated higher (or lower), feel free to head on over and vote!
