Cleveland Browns sign 7th round draft pick, ILB Scooby Wright III

Matt Kartozian-USA TODAY Sports

The Cleveland Browns signed ILB Scooby Wright III on Friday, along with five other rookies. Taken in the 7th round at No. 250 overall, Wright's contract will be worth about $2.401 million, with a $60,700 signing bonus over four years, according to OverTheCap's pre-determined draft chart. His cap hit in 2016 will be roughly $465,000.

Wright was the team's 14th player selected in the draft, their second offensive lineman picked, and the second of four fifth-round picks. Wright is 6-0, 240-pounds and played college football at Arizona. He will wear No. 50 with the Browns. On the first day of rookie minicamp, Wright talked about not having to do anything out-of-the-ordinary to impress coaches; he just has to play hard:

"I wouldn’t say it like that, to make a favorable impression, because when you’re out there playing football, you’re not thinking about how you’re going to impress somebody. You just go out there and do what you’re asked to do by your coaches and your teammates and play hard and do what you need to do."
