The Cleveland Browns are continuing to look for youth and size at the wide receiver position. A day after they terminated the contract of veteran receiver Brian Hartline, the team announced the signing of WR David Richards, an undrafted rookie out of Arizona.
Richards (6-3, 205 lbs) originally signed with Atlanta Falcons at the beginning of May, but he was waived a couple of days later. He was teammates with seventh-round draft pick Scooby Wright. Richards logged 43 passes for 548 yards and 6 touchdowns in his final season at Arizona, the best statistical output of his career.
The team continues to say that the club is down to 90 players, but their roster still indicates that they have 91 players, not including WR Josh Gordon. We'll continue trying to dig in to where that discrepancy is.
