The Cleveland Browns signed LB Joe Schobert on Friday, one day after he took part in the conclusion of the team’s rookie transition program. He is the 13th of 14 draft picks to sign. The only pick who remain unsigned is DL Carl Nassib.
Taken in the 4th round at No. 99 overall, Schobert's contract was projected to be worth about $2.974 million, with a $634,000 signing bonus over four years, according to OverTheCap's pre-determined draft chart. His cap hit in 2016 is projected to be roughly $608,000. Joe Ginley of DBN talked about Schobert with our college affiliate earlier today:
Schobert was the Browns' first pick of Day 3 of the draft, and also their first of four picks in the fourth round. He is 6-1, 245-pounds and played college football at Wisconsin. He will wear No. 53 with the Browns.
