The Cleveland Browns released SS Donte Whitner a couple of months ago, but we haven’t heard too much about where he’ll end up next. This past week, though, former Browns linebacker Karlos Dansby revealed that he’s been trying to recruit Whitner to join the Cincinnati Bengals:
.@Karlosdansby56 said he's tried recruiting @DonteWhitner to @Bengals to win SB ring. Unsure where he'll sign. @kirkmorrison @SiriusXMNFL

Dansby also said that prior to joining Cleveland, Cincinnati was one of the teams on his short list of places he had an interest playing on. After the Bengals lost Reggie Nelson and George Iloka this offseason, Whitner would be a fitting addition to their secondary.
Dansby had success recruiting a veteran to Cleveland once before when he did it with DL Randy Starks in 2015. In hindsight, Starks probably had to think, “what the hell did you get me in to?”
