Cleveland Browns vs. Green Bay Packers - 2nd Quarter Game Thread

NFL: Preseason-Cleveland Browns at Green Bay Packers Benny Sieu-USA TODAY Sports

The Packers got the ball to begin the first quarter and put together a series of run plays before Cleveland forced a punt. However, they ran into the punter, extending the drive briefly before another punt. On Cleveland’s first offensive play, QB Robert Griffin III hit WR Terrelle Pryor for 49 yards. The drive ended with Griffin being picked off at the goal line after a miscommunication with TE Gary Barnidge.

The Packers began at the 1 yard line, and DL Jamie Meder recorded a safety as the Packers were stuffed in the backfield. Cleveland had a 2-0 lead and were set to receive the free kick, but RB Raheem Mostert muffed the catch and the Packers recovered. The Browns’ defense held, but K Mason Crosby hit a 54-yard field goal to give Green Bay a 3-2 lead. That’s where we stand heading to the second quarter of play.
