On Sunday, the Cleveland Browns announced that they have waived/injured WR Rannell Hall, which is a necessary thing to do in the preseason when you need to put a player on injured reserve so you can vacate his roster spot. Hall fractured his leg this past Friday against the Green Bay Packers.
Taking Hall’s spot on the roster is WR Ed Eagan (5-10, 192 lbs). Hailing from Northwestern State, Eagan signed with the Dallas Cowboys after the draft as an undrafted free agent. He was with the club until last Wednesday, when they waived him. His scouting report says that he is a slot receiver who excels at returning kickoffs and punts. If Cleveland is still looking for a player on special teams, that could be a role he competes at the rest of this preseason.
The team also announced that they’ve reached an injury settlement with DL Kyle Rose, who is now a free agent.
