Atlanta Falcons vs. Cleveland Browns - 2nd Quarter Game Thread

NFL: Preseason-Atlanta Falcons at Cleveland Browns Ken Blaze-USA TODAY Sports

The Cleveland Browns got the ball to begin the game. After a nice 8-yard run by RB Isaiah Crowell, a screen pass was blown up and a run was stuffed on third down, leading to a quick punt. The Atlanta Falcons then proceeded to march down the field with ease, with the drive capped off by a 19-yard touchdown run by RB Devonta Freeman to go up 7-0.

On the Browns’ next offensive series, things went a lot better. The running game got going, and then at midfield, QB Robert Griffin III floated a perfect 50-yard touchdown down the right sideline to WR Terrelle Pryor to tie the game at 7-7 (watch the highlight here).

The Browns’ defense forced a punt on Atlanta’s next series, but Cleveland’s next series couldn’t gain traction after a holding penalty set them back. The Falcons are driving as we head to the second quarter.
