Chicago Bears vs. Cleveland Browns - 2nd Quarter Game Thread

NFL: Preseason-Chicago Bears at Cleveland Browns Ken Blaze-USA TODAY Sports

The Bears’ first drive of the game ended when OLB Emmanuel Ogbah sacked QB Brian Hoyer on third down. Cleveland went three-and-out on offense after QB Robert Griffin III’s third-down pass for WR Corey Coleman was too high.

Chicago marched down the field on their next drive due to some poor tackling, but now it was against mostly the second-team defense. DE Carl Nassib tipped a third-down pass, forcing Chicago to settle for a 30-yard field goal to go up 3-0.

Cleveland’s offense sputtered after getting to midfield, but on the punt, the ball hit off a Bears’ foot and went into the arms of ILB Tank Carder. Cleveland took over at the 18 yard line and sent the first-team offense back on the field. Cleveland capitalized with a 4-yard touchdown run by RB Isaiah Crowell to take a 7-3 lead. The starters should be done for the rest of the night as we head to the second quarter of play.
