The Philadelphia Eagles received the ball to begin the game, and rookie QB Carson Wentz led them right down the field. He completed several passes right in the bucket, including a 19-yard touchdown pass to WR Jordan Matthews to give Philadelphia a 7-0 lead.
The Browns then proceeded to go three-and-out on their first offensive drive, which was hurt by a first-down drop by TE Gary Barnidge. Cleveland had more success on their next defensive drive, as DL Carl Nassib and OLB Emmanuel Ogbah made a few plays that helped force a punt.
Cleveland’s offense went three-and-out yet again, though, and Darren Sproles negated the next punt with a long return. The defense held Philadelphia to a 46-yard field goal attempt, which was no good after a sack by ILB Christian Kirksey. Cleveland has the ball heading to the second quarter.
