According to Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal, the Cleveland Browns have waived cornerback Pierre Desir. Ulrich says the news was relayed via Desir’s agent.

At the start of camp, I thought the writing was on the wall that Desir would be let go when the new coaching staff switched him from cornerback to safety. I had a change of heart after the fourth preseason game, though, when Desir had a solid game, and I also thought the team could at least use more temporary cornerback help with Justin Gilbert dealing with a concussion.
The move might have been made with Desir today because the team needed to open a roster spot to sign defensive lineman Stephen Paea.
